To add music and a playhead to your webpage, follow these directions:
Part 1: This is not so hard. This first part makes it so that anyone can download your song to play in iTunes!
1. In your Garageband song, click "Share", then "Export song to Disk".
2. Find your silver box then click "Save".
3. Go to your web page.
4. Click "edit".
5. On the right hand side click "Images and Files" -
6. Click "Upload files" -
7. Find your song in your silver box. DO NOT CLICK ON THE GUITAR, CLICK ON THE MUSICAL NOTE!!!
8. Click "Open"
Part 2: Follow these steps if you want your music to play right in your web page (ex. at the bottom of what it looks like). THIS IS TRICKY!!!
1. Highlight and copy this code:
<embed width="300" height="45" src="../../../f/ellie2.m4a" type="audio/mpeg" autostart="FALSE"></embed>
2. Go back to your web page, click "Edit".
3. Click on the "Insert" button. It's above the "Add Link" button:
4. Choose "HTML/Javascript" button:
5. "Paste" the code you copied earlier (the one from step 1).
6. In that line of code you just pasted, change the words, "ellie2" to the EXACT name of your song. ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO TYPE IT EXACTLY!!
7. Click "Next" at the bottom.
8. Click Insert plugin
9.Then click save
This is what it should look like when you are done:
Type your name in the comment box below if you were able to get this to work. Then we can come check out your cool work!
